A Greener Kitchen Evelyn Organic Cotton Half Apron Review and Giveaway

     I used to be a Training Restaurant General Manager so I consider myself to be quite the foodie.  I am always in my kitchen - if not cooking then cleaning up.  I love my kitchen and am always trying out new recipes and gadgets.  If you've ever worked in a restaurant of any style you know they are always a mess, your clothes never stay clean, and there are all sorts of rule/guidelines to follow.  One of my biggest pet peeves in cooking at home is sometimes the same resources are not always available.  I am always forgetting I don't have an apron on like I did when I was working which usually causes me to destroy some really nice clothes. 

     Not too long ago I purchased my first at home (sexy) apron from a more well known company.  I was super excited about trying it out that was until it arrived.  Not only was it thin cheap material, but it was cheaply made and didn't come out of its first laundry wash without some of the stitching coming loose.  Needless to say I started my search again hoping to find a better company with "high quality standards", which is how I came across A Greener Kitchen.  "A Greener Kitchen offers you sustainable style solutions for kitchen and dining with eco-friendly kitchen products and accessories."  This includes aprons, produce bags, and tableware essentials. 

     I was give the Evelyn Organic Cotton Half Apron in Evelyn/Chocolate Brown to review.  Right away I noticed a huge difference in quality from the second this apron arrived.  It had a soft and thick feel to it and honestly my only complaint after washing it was that it wrinkled easily.  Who care though right unless you really are trying to go for the "sexy cook" look.  The best part about this apron/company is their standards and practices.  A Greener Kitchen is a very eco-friendly company using only organic cottons cut and sewn in the USA by a family-owned company.  Plus the few fabrics they do receive from India are "Fair Trade Certified, and the fabric is produced in a Fair Trade certified facility."  I love all the stylish patterns they have to offer and honestly I am hoping they will come out with more of a variety of products in the future!

Recommendation: This is a great purchase at this average price for something above average quality and definitely a company worth checking out other products from as they are high quality (compared to what I've seen elsewhere).  This would make a great gift for the kitchen chef or the eco-conscious friend.
