I was feeling very frustrated last night about whether or not I am doing everything I can as a parent. I swear I try to spend every free second I have with my children even with all the obstacles that pull me away each day. Being a blogger is difficult sometimes with small children. I always say its almost like being back in college having to research and write term papers or such. It really does take up a lot of your time, time that could be spent doing other things. So here is my question...
What is your typical day like now? What would you do if I told you right this moment you only had 24 hours left in your life? How would you spend it and what would change? Are you spending your days doing something meaningful or are you just living today for tomorrow?
If I just found this out, I'd call my husband and make him leave work so I could be "with him" and then the only thing I would honestly change is I'd stay off the computer (which is my work) for the rest of the time. I spend most of my days with my kids who mean the most to me. I guess in answering this question I must be doing something right throughout my day if there isn't much to change.
So whaat about you?
I would also have hubby come home from work and spend time with the kids. Their would be no TV or computer or phones. Just us spending and doing things together. So you're doing the right thing as a mother and wife. Don't get down on yourself.
ReplyDeleteI with you about staying off the computer. I'm usually not on it unless my daughter is napping or eating but if I only had 24 hours, I'd want to spend every second with my little girl.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to think about it, but I agree with you - I would definitely toss all electronics out the window!
ReplyDeleteI'd absolutely spend the day with my kiddos. ♥ And probably go hiking, because that's our favorite family activity and when we talk and laugh the most!

This is a tough one...24 hours is such a short time. I would definitely stay home with my husband and my boys, enjoy them the most. Take photos together. Make sure they know how much I love them. I'd also call my family and say goodbye....it'd be tough to be in such situation...I'll just make it worth it.

It sounds like you are doing all the right things. The work/life balance is difficult no matter what you do for work.
ReplyDeleteIf I was given only 24-hours, I would turn off all electronics and phones. I would gather my three children and we would head out on the ultimate fun adventure filling each and every hour of those 24 hours up with fun and laughter. I would also visit briefly with my best friends and my close family; but most of the time would be spent getting my children to laugh and enjoy the short amount of time.
ReplyDeleteGREAT post by the way; makes you think about how we spend our time each day. Thank you for the reality check, I mean it! :)
Stay home and cuddle!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard and I think about this a lot too! I would turn off my phone and just spend quality time with my daughter and husband.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great thing for all familys to do.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea! Probably plan the funnest day ever!
ReplyDeleteI'd call the hub's all my children, and shut down the computer... and just be with them. Like you I guess I am doing something right..
ReplyDeleteI would plan a pure me day with no interruptions!!
ReplyDeleteWow, If I had only 24 hours left to live..I would make it the day I give birth to our baby so he or she can live a great life with their father and sisters. I would make it a painless labor and very quick that way I could spend some time with my girls and my husband.
