Super excited about being a part of the Lionsgate blogger program, I have yet another great DVD to share with you all! This time we received "Thomas & Friends: Blue Mountain Mystery ". As I said in the last DVD review my boys have always been strange ones in my opinion when it comes to watching there children's programs. They both love things like Tinkerbell or strawberry shortcake and not a ton of boyish shows. I guess the biggest thing is we don't watch a whole ton of TV in our house....usually just movies and video games. One of the shows that Dane has always been a fan of though has been Thomas the Train. He loves his toy trains and "helping" his other cars out.
The synopsis says "When trouble strikes at the Blue Mountain Quarry, Thomas is sent to help his Narrow Gauge engine friends. While shunting and hauling, he catches a glimpse of a small engine trying to hide, yet no one will provide any clues to the engine’s identity. Thomas is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery but discovering the truth is harder than he imagined! Will Thomas be able to save his new friend? Or will the mysterious engine be sent away from Sodor forever? Travel on an exciting journey with Thomas and his friends in his biggest movie ever, tracking down clues, discovering lost engines and revealing the power of friendship!"
When "Blue Mountain Mystery" first came in the mail, Dane was very quick to hop into bed and get ready for a movie. We actually figured he was tired and would be out before the movie was half through. For one straight hour we heard nothing from Dane's bedroom. If you know my children at all you know this is extremely abnormal unless their sleeping which is a rarity in itself (and if it had been Declan we would have assumed he was getting into something).
Upon the end of the movie Dane finally appeared to us in the living room with the most serious look on his face and exclaimed, "That was seriously the best movie ever! You guys have to see it! It was the best movie ever!" Never have I heard such a dramatic response to a movie or TV show before so we just had to watch it for ourselves.
In all honesty, we thought it was pretty cute too! The truth is it is right up our families alley with the mysterious train and trying to uncover the secrets! The Parents’ Choice Foundation recently honored this all-new Blu-ray and DVD Thomas & Friends: Blue Mountain Mystery with its prestigious “Recommendation” award. This is very suiting considering this was an all around family movie.
Cost: $24.98 Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack or $19.98 DVD
Recommendation: I really liked this Thomas Movie! I thought it was good for the entire family. We were all able to talk through some of the lessons and guess what we thought would happen. I even had Alana's attention for the entire movie and she's a you know what...a teenager!
