Hi, my name is Amy and I am a working mother of two girls’ ages 22 months and 3 years. Randi and I have actually known each other forever and most recently reconnected our amazing friendship. Because I have girls, she recently asked me if I would consider writing for her on and off, so here goes nothing!
I have a hard time finding cute clothes that my oldest will wear because she is not very girly, as in if her clothing has a bow on it she will not wear it. So while I was searching the internet for clothes for my daughter, I stumbled upon Taylor Joelle. The clothes are very fashionable and so cute; I couldn't wait to have my daughter in one of the darling outfits or hair bows. One of the big selling points that drew me to this company is that it is a small business that is operates out of Utah of the United States. It was founded in 2007 by Jenny, who continues to be the top designer and is involved in every business decision. As they state on their blog site about us section they have Fresh.. Fun.. Fashion. They make a variety of clothing from daddy and son matching ties to crochet hats. They also offer a weekly hot buy on their site and exclusive discounts to their facebook fans for all non-hot buy items.
I was fortunate enough to be given the Lace Top with Ruffle Sleeves from the company Taylor Joelle Designs for review. I showed Mikayla the shirt on the computer and she was so excited because it looked like a pirate shirt to her, she’s obsessed with Peter Pan and Jake and the Neverland Pirates, so I knew it wouldn't be a fight to get her to wear it. When it came I was very excited and pleasantly surprised with the fact that it has a built in undershirt so that the lace doesn't itch my daughter’s skin and I didn't have to run around to find a shit to put underneath it. Mikayla age 4, wore this shirt for Thanksgiving and I was concerned about it being white, but she looked so cute in it and she was so excited to wear her pirate shirt. We lucked out this year with the weather being unseasonably warm being in Michigan, so we didn't have to layer to stay warm.
The shirt size 4T fit her perfect and since it’s ¾ length she didn't need to push her sleeves up like she does with every single shirt and jacket she wears. The only thing I didn't think of while helping her get ready is that my nails did snag on the lace, but my nails were in desperate need of being manicured and had a lot of rough edges. Once I took care of my nails I no longer had this problem.
This shirt is very durable and can easily be paired with a skirt or even jeans -the possibilities are endless. The only down side of this shirt, for me being so busy, is that it is wash separate on delicate cycle. I value what little time I have to spend with my children during the week and don’t want to have to spend the extra time to do a separate load of laundry for one article of clothing. But I do know that with how well the shirt is made, my baby will be able to wear this very cute shirt in the years to come.
Available to purchase: Taylor Joelle
Recommendation: I definitely will be looking to get other products from Taylor Joelle Designs, especially the adorable bows and skirts for my youngest daughter. I will however be more aware of the material used, so I can anticipate how it will have to be washed. Some of the outfits can be a little pricey, especially for kid clothes, which grow out of everything in a flash, but check out their weekly hot buy deals and like them on facebook for exclusive discounts for their fans on all non-hot buy items.
