Zyliss Easy Twist Apple Corer Review and Giveaway

        One of the first stories I remember Kevin telling me about Alana when we first started dating was about her first time eating an apple.  He told me that he gave her an apple and walked away when she was about 3 or 4 years old only to come back and find the entire thing gone.  She had supposedly destroyed the entire apple core and all.

        I believed him but found it fairly hard to imagine that a 4 year old would want to eat through the tasteless core.  Now having a 4 and 2 year old, I definitely believe him!  Both boys have tried to do the same thing several times.  So most of the time when they ask for an apple I have to cut it off the core to be sure they don't devour it.  Then Zyliss asked me to review another product for them - their Easy Twist Apple Corer.

        I expected nothing but the coolest of tool since I don't ever put away the last product I received from Zyliss - the Fast Cut Herb Tool.  And just as last time I was impressed with how quick and easy this was to use.  All you need to do is press the corer into the center of the apple, twist and pull.  Because it has an "ultra sharp stainless steel coring blade with serrated edge" it cuts through even the toughest apple skins and can even be used easily on other fruits like pears.

        There is very little mess and then all you have to do to dispose of the core is pop it out by pressing down on its handle.  The Easy Twist Apple Corer is also dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.  What's really awesome about this corer is the slim design so it doesn't take up much room in my drawers like other similar tools.

Recommendation:  I definitely would recommend this to anyone who even prepares pies or has little ones who love to eat these healthy snacks.  Be sure to look at all Zyliss has to offer since a lot of their tools are priced very reasonably and can come in handy around the kitchen.
