Barney®: Let’s Go To The Moon just become available on DVD, Digital Download and On Demand on January 8, 2013 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. The DVD includes three episodes as well as one bonus feature.
The synopsis says "Star Light, Star Bright, let’s go on a space adventure tonight! Barney encourages Riff to always reach for the stars, even when his homemade spaceship doesn’t reach Mars; Baby Bop learns about Mr. Moon’s important job lighting the night for the world and BJ sees he’s special just the way he is – astronaut or not. Barney and his friends discover that the sky is not the limit when you use your imagination!"
When I was younger, my youngest sister was obsessed with of all shows Barney. It was always on as we watched it 24/7. I now have a better understanding as to why Alana spends so much time in her room having such an age gap between her and the boys. Shows like Barney make her crazy and she wants nothing to do with even catching a glimpse of them.
Honestly, I wanted nothing to do with bringing Barney into our home but Dane wanted to review it! So of course to give my munchkins what they want, we sat and watched Barney together (although I can promise I wasn't paying much attention)! Dane wasn't very into it once it began but Declan loved it.
I do have to say that I enjoyed how Barney incorporates crafts and imaginary play into the program. It helped give us some creative ideas for those rainy days. There was also different lessons about the importance of everything such as the moon and stars!
Cost: $14.98
Recommendation: Declan really enjoyed it and has spent several days watching it while playing quietly to himself. Unfortunately I still have to say I can't stand Barney so I wouldn't buy it at any price!
