Racor Home Storage Solutions Garage Ceiling Storage Lift Review and Giveaway

        My "thing" has always been organization (especially before having kids).  Diagnosed with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), I feel the need to put everything in a specific place in a specific order.  This has always helped me career wise in the restaurants I've worked in.  I am very confident I always ran the most organized and clean kitchens!  This always carried over into my personal life.  I have my DVD's organized by category again before the kids they were alphabetized, my closet is categorized as well, I even have color coded the hangers (weird I know), and my kitchen pantry completely follows all health department guidelines as far as rotation, sanitation, and safety.

        We unfortunately, like many, were forced to move about two years ago because of our financial situation.  Of course we moved from our very large, new home into a much smaller, older home.  With this move posed more issues than you can ever imagine (especially if you have never been through a move like this).  Oh and by the way the month we moved we added a new baby to the mix as well!  We went from from lots of square footage, two floors, a basement, and a three car garage to one level, smaller size, no basement, and a two car garage.

        Since the move, we have decided to use our garage as a game room/storage center.  It is honestly kind of ridiculous when you look at my garage.  We almost monthly have to reorganize and go through boxes so we are able to still allow the kids to play pool or just to get to things.  So when I discovered Racor Home Storage Solutions, needless to say I was pumped to get my hands on one of their products!

        Thankfully this amazing company agreed to work with me on a review of their Garage Ceiling Storage Lift.  You cannot imagine our need for such a useful tool!  This storage lift adds up to 16 square feet of storage space to your garage.  Since we use our garage as a double game room/storage unit we need all the floor space we can get to allow for movement around the pool table.  This gives you the storage without taking up any floor or wall space.

        "Made of steel construction, the Ceiling Storage Heavy Lift has a unique pulley system that lets you easily load and lift up to 250 pounds of storage items to the ceiling and lock securely in place."  Whats awesome about this is you don't have to worry about lifting any of those heavy items into the garage ceiling rafters and potentially hurting yourself.  Believe me we have done this and either hurt ourselves or damaged the items we were trying to store!

        Kevin decided to take on the task of putting this together alone since he was too excited to wait for help.  It took him about five hours give or take from start to finish although he said it would have been a much quicker process had he had a partner.

        He said the directions were very easy to follow step by step except one portion explaining how to position the end caps.  If you don't turn the hooks opposite of what the directions explain the beams will not stay put.  So be sure to place the two hooks on the ends facing out to keep the beam in place.

        Since we are such a huge Halloween family and we have over a dozen boxes of decorations, costumes, and animatronics, we decided this would be a perfect place to store these items.  This way they are safe from weather conditions, children and potential damage.  Everything can easily be organized into one spot for easy access at anytime since the storage lift lowers 8 feet from the ceiling.  This can be done by using a hand crank or attaching your power drill.

Recommendation:  I don't know that I could say a single bad thing about this company or product!  This is a quality made product sure to last a lifetime and more.  I would recommend anyone trying to organize a bit more to look into Raco's garage products!  All are very reasonably priced for this type f quality and solution in my opinion!  This is definitely something we will be removing and taking with us to the next house!
