PSCPets Calming Formula Review

        With any animal though comes the same baby stages we as people go through.  There is tons of energy and a lack in experience when it comes to dealing with every day things such as travel or appropriate behavior.  I was recently asked to review the Probiotic Smart Pet Calming Formula from PSC Pets.  I knew this was something that would be worthwhile to try since two of our three dogs are puppies under two years of age.

        "PSCPets Calming Formula contains a combination of nutrients that support balanced behavior, promotes relaxation, and reduced hyperactivity in your choice of a tasty soft chew or chewable tablet."  Now we used to have a dog a while back who was diagnosed with OCC (obsessive compulsive chewing disorder) and it was recommended by the vet that in the beginning we use a pet calming formula.

        Unfortunately the issues with the dog were too severe for the formula we tried but I was excited to give a new go around with our current babies.  We couldn't have gotten these at a better time than we did too because Capone our oldest dog had to have surgery two weeks ago and because of how hyper the other two are we had to continuously keep the three locked up and separated.

        That was mostly until we received the PSCPets Calming Formula.  When given to Rayne (almost two pitbull/bulldog mix), she slowly calmed over the next 20 minutes to half hour.  When given to Opie (our insane one year old purebred pit), it had no affect what-so-ever.  Thankfully since we had 50% of the house under control we were able to only keep Opie locked up and let the other two relax together most days before Capones recheck.

Recommendation:  To be honest, I wasn't hugely impressed with this formula although it may work better on a smaller dog that it did for us.  The cost is great and method of dosing was easy and like feeding them treats.  I think it is going to depend on the dogs temperament to begin with as to how effective it will be.
