Now this is the queen of dehydrators as not only is this one expandable to 20 trays but it has a Digitally Controlled top unit fan. Having the fan on top helps keep liquids from dripping into the heater chamber. Because this dehydrator has a 2,400 RPM motor, it is able to dry 4x faster than other dryers.
"Patented Converga-Flow® forces heated air down the exterior pressurized chamber, then horizontally across each individual tray, converging in the center, for fast, even and nutritious drying." And with "1000 watts drying power means you can dry more, faster. No flavor mixing! No need for tray rotation."
I personally love the adjustable thermostat with the digital timer. This way I can dehydrate a variety of items from the herbs from my garden to the abundance of fruits I buy at the farmers markets to savory jerky for my husband and boys!
With a Vita-Save® Exterior, light in blocked "to retain more of the food's nutrients and vitamins during the drying process." Several accessories are included with this dehydrator including No-Spill Fruit Roll Sheet, Clean-A-Screen®, Jerky Spice Packet and Cure.
One of the things I love to do with things like apple skins and orange peels, is dry them out to make potpourri! This has become a much easier and quicker process not to mention it uses less energy than trying to run my oven for hours! My children also love dried fruit chips and this is a much healthier way for my children to enjoy the snacks they love!

ReplyDeleteI have wanted a dehydrator for year. And potpourri had not even crossed my mind, so thanks for mentioning that in your review. I would probably be making jerky in mine 24/7, lol. I think it would be fabulous to own one of these so I could make jerky, dried fruits, etc for Christmas gifts.
ReplyDeletemy dad brother cousins uncles and all hunters would love this to make jerky from the deer and everything else they hunt. I love that it stacks to 20 trays.
ReplyDeleteWe have a very large garden that we plant every year. I have been canning and freezing. I would also love to be able to dehydrate some of our garden produce along with some venison.
ReplyDeleteI think this is fantastic! I think what you said about waste is so important and true. I have purchased fruit, bananas for instance, that ripen much quicker than I expected and this would be ideal to use. Food prices are only going up and I would love to preserve some long lasting staples.
ReplyDeleteI love to dehydrate when we moved the last time mine disappeared and oh how I miss it. I make jerky, fruit leathers, dried fruit, dried tomatoes and I give them out for Christmas and they all love them. I love to be able to use my garden in different ways.
ReplyDeleteI like that you can dry so much faster than other driers. I have so many ideas of what to dry and a great fruit mix in my mind.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to use this to make sweet potato chips!

ReplyDeleteI love to dry tomatoes and almost all fruits. So much better than anything you can buy
ReplyDeleteI had a dehydrator about 20 years ago and used it all the time. Loved being able to make dried fruit and veggies. It also makes good jerky. I would love to have a new one.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting a dehydrator for a while now! This would be great for making raw foods!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of no tray rotation. Sounds like the queen of dehydrators, indeed :)
ReplyDeleteThis is going to make harvest season from the garden so much easier.
ReplyDeleteI would use it to dry fruits and make beef jerky.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting a food dehydrator for awhile because I have been wanting to dehydrate fruit to have as a healthier snack alternative to candy bars and other unhealthy snacks.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting a food dehydrator for awhile now so I can dry fruit to make healthier snack choices.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently pregnant and want nothing but gummy bears and potato chips. I'd like to be able to dehydrate fruits and veggies instead to begin a healthier life day by day with this little one. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm currently pregnant and have been really focusing on starting a healthy lifestyle for my little one from the get go. I'm currently craving gummy bears and potato chips, and if I can learn to dehydrate fruits and veggies instead to be my snack, it'll be a great first start to a healthy family lifestyle. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to make potpourri with citrus peel! I can already smell it. When I was a kid we used to put fresh clementine peel on our heater which was a large stove -- I doubt they make those anymore -- what a great smell.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a high quality product. I would love to dry fruits in this!

i would love this. over the last few years my garden has grown to healthy 25'x50', plus strawberry patch and fruit bushes. I have learned to can the produce for preserving. I think it would be great to learn to dehydrate to preserve fruits , veggies and even meat! The more I can do at home, the better of my family will be
ReplyDeleteI have an older model of this one, and it still works great. I use it for many things, including making organic fruit leather for my grandsons, but the most common way I use it is to make chicken breast jerky treats for our pets. I just slice thawed breasts and dry them, then keep them in the freezer in a zipper bag. Freezing isn't required for dried foods, but that way there is no chance of mold and the meat is still very fresh tasting for the ferrets, cat and dogs. No worries here about all the poisoning problems in dog and cat treats we read about in the paper regularly.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried jerky for humans in this one because I also have a large dryer, but I'm sure it would work fine.
Forgot to add, kale chips and zucchini chips are healthy and went over big with the grandboys. Add a little sea salt to make them taste great!
ReplyDeleteI would love to dry fruit, garlic, onions, and meat. I have looked at various dehydrators and into making my own, but winning this would make the decision for me!
ReplyDeleteThis dehydrator is deluxe! I am amazed at all of the bells and whistles, particularly the fact that it makes dehydrating food so easy and trouble free! The digital fan control and trays that don't have to be rotated, combined with the speed at which things get done, makes it fun and easy to try dehydrating all kinds of things.
ReplyDeleteI had a food dehydrator, but it didn't have a digitally controlled top unit fan. Actually it didn't have a fan at all. When Nesco included the fan on their Nesco Gardenmaster Digital Pro it made me a fan. I know that anything that I would dehydrate would be much appreciated by my family & easier for me to do thanks to this innovation.
ReplyDeleteI love this dehydrator.I love the Digitally Controlled top unit fan. There are so many fruits and veggies I could dehydrate to preserve in my garden.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to be able to do something other than freeze and can all the berries and fruits from my garden. I love adding dried fruits to my oatmeal, yogurt and cereal and knowing where they came from and how they were made is much better than wondering about hidden sugars in the stuff from the store.
ReplyDeleteI love that this has a timer. I actually have a dehydrator now, and I love it, but I have to time it to make sure that I don't have to wake up in the middle of the night to turn it off!
ReplyDeleteMy whole family would love it. My son is Diabetic type 1 and has Celiacs can not eat gluten so all natural whole food are the best for him to eat so this helps so much in making him food that he would enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try my hand at making beef jerky with the dehydrator --- yum! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis dehydrator sounds like a great product for a great price. I really want to try making my own beef jerky (or turkey or chicken) --- bet it would taste delish!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to get a dehydrator. We have a very large garden and I would love to dehydrate some of our veggies. We are avid hunters and making some jerky from our venison would great too.
ReplyDeleteThis dehydrator looks it's of real high quality -- a lot of the ones you see at Wal-Mart are kind of cheapsy -- this one looks like it would last a long time.
ReplyDeleteMy kids LOVE dried fruit, but it gets EXPENSIVE at the grocery store. I would love to be able to make it in my own kitchen :)
ReplyDeleteThis is great, I like that its expandable. You can do a lot of dehydrating and not have to spend even more time with batches of food.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to think about all the different things I would make with a new dehydrator. I lost mine in the last move think the ex threw it away. I would have lots of fun with this so would my daughter. We love to make and give away homemade gifts and food they always go over well thanks
ReplyDeleteI appreciate how it retains more of the vitamins and minerals due to light in blocked during the drying phases.Love the different levels and the ability to dry different things.
ReplyDeleteI would love the Gardenmaster Digital Pro Food Dehydrator my son can only eat gluten free so taking fruits and veggies from our garden and drying them would be great. Looks like you can do a large batch at a time and jerky is our favorite too.
ReplyDeleteI use my old dehydrator to make chicken jerky for our pets. I have read about all the dogs and cats that have died from eating snacks made in China. This way I know exactly what they are getting. And the dried chicken addition to their diet has improved the health of our ferrets greatly.
ReplyDeleteDried fruit for homemade trail mix/snacks

ReplyDeleteThis would be great to have. I've never had one, but have always wanted to. So many things you can do with it, and all of it natural.
ReplyDeleteI always plant a garden have too much tomatoes and they end up going bad. I make my own salsa, my own spaghetti sauce but would love to try something else. I saw this giveaway for the Nesco Gardenmaster and thought it would be great for drying tomatoes out and using for on top of bread or in recipes that call for sun dried tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win this dehydrator --- I've always wanted to make beef jerky and also to dehydrate some fruit (like apricots)...good luck to everyone!
