        Barney®: Perfectly Purple becomes available on DVD, Digital Download and On Demand on today November 12th, 2013 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. The DVD will include three episodes as well as several bonus features like a Karaoke video, a read along and a matching game.


        The synopsis says "With a splash of purple and some help from his friends, Barney always finds ways to have a Tee-riffic time together. Barney and his friends plan a perfectly purple party for a friend, and with some special Barney magic, it becomes a purple party surprise for everyone!  When Baby Bop, BJ and Riff reveal their inner artists in the park, they learn the most special art comes from the heart!  When Riff’s drumsticks go missing, Barney turns the search into an exploration of the colorful world around them. With parties, festivals, adventures and more, Barney and his friends show how colors make the world a beautiful place!"

        Now I am not a fan of Barney by any stretch of the imagination, but my kids seem to be glued to the television when he is on TV.  So I guess that's one for the big purple dinosaur.  I actually despise this guy because of how much my sister would make me watch him when she was younger.  However, note this in the records because you probably won't hear me say it again...

        ...This was actually a good video this time around.  I love all the colors and encouragement to celebrate the arts and being creative!  I have always taught my kids they don't have to color in the lines all the time as being different and unique can be a good thing too!  These episodes actually reflected this in my opinion!

Cost:  $14.98
Recommendation:  Both boys really enjoyed watching this DVD and I didn't mind it all that mch myself this go around.  I love the lessons about exploring the world and recognizing its beauty.  I still don't know that I would pay $15 to have an actual Barney DVD brought into my home by choice.
