Tortuga Rum Cakes and Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee Review and #Giveaway

        Being a baker usually means you have a soft spot for the sweet stuff.  I used to bake all the time when I was younger and it was actually one of my most cherished memories/times with my grandmother.  Now being older with my weight to worry about, I rarely bake and especially don't touch it if I do for my children because I know I can't resist once I start.  That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy a treat here or there though.

        I don't honestly remember how I stumbled upon Tortuga but I am sure glad I did.  They sent me over a few samples to try which I am super excited to tell you about.  First is their AMAZING rum cakes.  Its actually pretty funny because even though I was excited to try these, Alana was all about trying them more.  She made me open the original Caribbean one as soon as it came in the mail.  I actually had to hide the Key Lime one because Kevin wanted to eat it before I could get a picture even!

        Right away she was grossed out at how strong of a rum flavor these had to her.  I, on the other hand, thought both flavors were such a moist and creamy flavor.  I loved the strong rum taste.  The kicker though as you can see from my photos is that we had given a small bite to each of the three year old's to try and they were automatically hooked.  You should have seen these fiends they couldn't get enough and definitely not fast enough!  It was ridiculous!

        The next product they sent me was their Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee beans.  Coming from a restaurant background where coffee was a major offering I had already heard about the amazing quality of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee.  This was always one of those expensive hard to get your hands on brands.

It is treasured for its balanced blend of richness, sweetness and perfect acidity with an exotic and enticing aroma only found in 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee."  This coffee definitely lives up to my expectations!  I have been enjoying a fresh ground cup of this coffee each morning since it arrived and I am pretty sure I am hooked!

Recommendation:  Yum yum...if these were available at more stores near me I'd be buying them every time I go to the grocery store!  I really want to try the Taste of Florida rum cake sampler since those flavors sound amazing too.  Maybe that way I will get to actually enjoy some of the cake.  Although I will probably have to hide it from the little ones! Even though the prices are a bit high they are totally worth the cost!
