One of the ways I have always done so is by using a planner. No, I don't mean my smart phone or tablet! I mean a good ole fashioned paper planner and a pencil or pen (for those who don't know what that is - its similar to a stylus except it leaves a mark as you drag it across something, lol)! I joke about this because I truly don't expect that kids of this day and technology age have the same appreciation for those things.
Over the last year though, I realized that this may be due to my own mistakes. I have never even educated my children on the importance of using a pen and paper calendar. This year when school started, Alana was pretty upset to find I hadn't purchased a planner for her so we had to spend days scouring the stores for one.
There are at a glance assignments, due dates and after-school activities as well as spaces to schedule study time. We have been using it as a way of keeping track of Dane's lunch schedule and any important in class activities we need to be aware of. Alana comes home each day and adds all special assignments and tests into it so I can keep an eye on what her schedule looks like for the week too.
Cost/Available to purchase: $19 2013-2014 Academic Planner
Recommendation: Its really hard to review this product as it all depends on what works for you personally. This worked just fine for us and is pretty basic so I would guess most anyone could use it! I do think its a little expensive though.
