Chicken Soup for the Soul: Just us Girls Book Review and #Giveaway

I love to read and have always enjoyed the Chicken Soup for the Soul's line of books.  These have especially been a blessing for me to read this past year with everything I have had to deal with.  Their newest book, Just us Girls just seems to talk to me and made me realize how important my girlfriends are.  I need them in my life and not only to have a confidant but also to keep me sane!  After this past year of going through a divorce that involved domestic abuse, I've come to appreciate my girlfriends more than ever before.

Growing up I was always one of the boys, not wanting to to deal with all the drama that goes along with having girlfriends.  I did however, find myself with a fantastic group of girls in high school and we were inseparable.  In college we shifted a little but we are slowly finding our way back to each other, especially since two of us have children of the same age.  After having my first child, I joined a local mom group and from that I formed bonds with a few other mothers.  We have been through it all together...births, losses, house fires, and everything in between.  We have been able to be there for one another, no matter what was happening in our own lives.

But I would have to say that my biggest support has been two of my very dear friends who know the most intimate details of what I have endured over the years.  These are the two people I know I can go to when my life is falling apart.  It doesn't matter what is happening in their own lives, they will drop what they are doing and be there for me, as I would for them.  All of these women in my life have and do play an important part of who I am and who I continue to become.

Now that I have shared a little of my story with you and how this book has inspired me, I hope that you will find the same inspiration when you read it as well.  I have to say that this book will make you look back at the times you spent as a child having sleepovers, becoming young ladies, sneaking out at night to meet the boys you like, or just sharing secrets with your besties as being the important stuff life is made up of.  Even now as an adult, it is learning to accept people for who they are and to love them for their faults/flaws not loving them despite those things.

Cost/Available to Purchase:  $11.77 Barnes & Noble or Amazon
Recommendation:  I love all my friends, but I cherish my girlfriends the most.  I absolutely love how this book helped me to realize how amazing each and everyone of them is to me.  Definitely a great read and I think the cost is in line with any other books of this type and this was worth the read for sure!
