Now I rely on finding brands which provide either exceptional desserts or ingredients which I can use to make my desserts. I was given the opportunity to work with the brand Elaine's Toffee through a peer. Elaine's Toffee Company is a 40 year old family recipe and tradition which has turned into an amazing business making English Toffee Products!
I was sent over a box of Milk Chocolate Almond Toffee Box, a bag of Dark Chocolate Almond Toffee Nuggets, and a jar of Toffee Sauce to review. I honestly don't know where else to start but by saying this was the most amazing toffee, chocolate, sauce, I have ever tasted - no exaggeration! I am not even a fan of dark chocolate, nor is anyone in my household, yet there isn't a trace of this after only a a few days!
Within the first 24 hours of receiving the Toffee Sauce, we just had to heat it up and pour over ice cream. A-MA-ZING!!! Wow, my mouth is just watering talking about this creamy goodness! Both kids loved it as well and so now I am going to have to get at least one more jar since I didn't have the opportunity to bake anything with it and really only got myself a spoonful.
The Milk Chocolate Almond Toffee Box lasted the longest and only because I hid it from everyone in my family. After taking one bite of this I knew the others would gobble it up and since I rarely eat sweets myself, I wanted to have it available for when that sweet tooth comes around. It was even hard not eating the whole bag myself in one sitting since this had the most buttery smooth flavor ever. It literally melted in my mouth!
I also have to add that this company now holds a special place for me as reading about how the three sisters used to watch their parents make the toffee for others. Eventually they started to make toffee with their mother and because of the extreme demand started it into a brand every one can count on. Because I too am the oldest of three sisters and used to bake side by side with my grandmother, I truly appreciate these handed down recipes, traditions, and memories!

ReplyDeleteWe are Italian and Irish. I have recipes for Irish Scones made with heavy whipping cream and fresh butter and they are not hard, but soft and buttery and the soda bread is made with currants or golden raisins. My Great Grandmother Rizzo's Biscotti and Angel Cookies were our all time favorites. Angel cookies are light and lemony with a thin glaze on top and sprinkles. Biscotti is either covered in sesame seeds or lightly glazed with a hint of almond or vanilla extract. Every time I make these recipes, I think of my family and our rich heritage and although I miss them, I feel much closer to them and I know I am passing these recipes down to the next generation, as they were passed down to me.
ReplyDeletewould love to try the dark chocolate
