Because I eat steamed veggies with just about every meal, I was more than thrilled when Kalorik agreed to send me over their 3-Tier Food Steamer for review! This is definitely the ultimate in steamers with a 9 1/2 quart capacity and featuring 3 tiers. There is an awesome 60-minute timer with auto-off function for those of us who love to multi-task during dinner.
I especially love that I can refill the water level while cooking without having to worry about burning myself or making a mess with the foods inside. There is a see through water tank AND water inlets for pouring in additional water. Not only do the food containers stack inside of each other there are also carrying handles in case you need to transport any of the foods.
The 3-Tier Food Steamer works great to steam any veggie (fish, meats and even grains) in a hurry. There is even a rice cooker tray included and "a turbo steam function that starts cooking within seconds". Being that I am the thrifty, make food from scratch chef, I also like the "drip tray for collecting liquid to make gravies and sauces".
Everything that is removable is dishwasher safe and the base wipes clean very easily! I truly love this tool and how easy it is to steam different foods without them "touching" for my picky boys (and husband). I think it works more than perfect for any level chef or entertainer!

Recommendation: I love Kalorik as all their products just seem to be high quality and always have such neat designs with every individuals needs in mind. I think for the amount of use I am going to get out of this, its priced pretty fair. I'd like to see it stay at the sales price or even a tad bit lower to help encourage people to start eating healthier using something like this!

My favorite meal to prepare is a good salmon fillet or some marinated, pan-fried tofu, herbed couscous or another grain--perhaps something like parmesan grits or a mushroom-barley stir-fry, and sauteed or steamed veggies.
ReplyDeleteI would make steamed savory oat cakes
ReplyDeleteI would make some fresh steamed veggies and brown rice with a marinated chicken. This product is awesome.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I made a resolution to eat more vegetables at the beginning of the year. The only problem is that he and I like completely different veggies. This looks like it'd be helpful in preparing dinners for us.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite meal is a huge salad of tomatoes from my garden with a side of homemade bread.
ReplyDeleteI would like to make fresh veggies, fish, chicken to begin.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to win the Kaloric steamer so I can steam things on the three levels and have them ready at the same time. I only have an old small steamer now. --Deb (dd)
ReplyDeleteI love the Kalorik for so many reasons. Number one my husband and I have been eating more fruits and veggies and steaming is a good way to retain vitamins and minerals while cooking. Number two, I love and am eating a lot of brown rice. The steamer would make cooking the rice very easy. Number three all of the removable parts are dishwasher safe so I can clean up easily and not have parts of the Kaloric sitting out on the countertop draining tray because they need to dry from handwashing.
ReplyDeleteI love spaghetti squash, but cooking in water leaves it waterlogged. So I think that this steamer would be perfect way for me to enjoy my veggies.
ReplyDeleteThis is another thing that I have always wanted--a food steamer. I love the health benefits of steaming my own food but the reason I want one is because I am a terrible cook and always overcook or burn my vegetables--just ask my kids.
ReplyDeleteI would use the Kaloric steamer to steam my carrots. I have TMJ and need them cooked so they don't hurt my jaw to chew. Love carrots!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win the Kaloric so my husband and I could steam 3 different veggies and keep all the nutrients, helping us to eat even healthier.
ReplyDeleteI would be in absolute heaven if I had a steamer again. Steamed vegetables, steamed rice, steamed sliced apples with cinnamon, steamed peaches with a bit ginger...I have missed them so much!!
ReplyDeleteI had a steamer but I lost my house and all contents in Katrina and am still working on replacing odds and ends. Being vegan and a gardener, I used my old steamer all the time. It was one of those little metal baskets that you sat over a boiling pot on the stove. This steamer would be a dream.
ReplyDeleteI never owned or even tried a steamer it would be exciting to try i love to do different types of cooking :)
ReplyDeleteThat's way cool that you can steam in levels! I had three veggies last night and had three pans and three steamer inserts, plus the lids to clean. Wow. I need one of these.
ReplyDeleteI love steamed veggies and I know that this would get quite a workout.
ReplyDeleteI want one. :D
ReplyDeleteI am excited to win this food steamer because it looks very versatile and convenient! I would use it to cook vegetables.
