The kit comes with one pressed powder compact, a lip gloss, pink blush compact, a glitter pot, an eye shadow palette and a complete makeup brush set. Each item looks so real that when my mom came the next day to watch the girls she thought it was real makeup and wanted to know if they girls were allowed to play with it. I had to laugh to myself at this as I had to actually have her feel it and see that it was actually foam.
The kit looks so realistic that not only did my mother believe it was my makeup, my daughter was getting upset that the makeup wasn't coming off on her fingers like the 'other' play makeup they had used in the past. Mikayla really wanted to put sparkles on her face and was most excited about that part of the kit. They played with the makeup non-stop for at least an hour or so, which they rarely do with anything this long.
They were even putting makeup on each other, telling each other they were beautiful through this session and more. The girls continue to play with the makeup on a daily basis. When we are going somewhere they have to make sure to put some on, which is funny since I don't wear makeup that often. I am not one to encourage them "needing" makeup but I am comfortable with them using their imagination and boosting their confidence especially together!
Recommendation: If you have a child that loves getting into your makeup or a little girl that loves pretending to put on makeup and be super girly this is the perfect gift for them. Even my little Tomboy loved this item and still plays with it regularly. These are durable and mess free which is a major plus in my book.
