Birds of Paradise DVD Review and #Giveaway
We were recently asked to review Birds of Paradise which is available on Blu-Ray Combo Pack And DVD (plus Digital UltraViolet) exclusively at Walmart, as well as Digital HD and Video On Demand From Lionsgate Home Entertainment, on April 1st, 2014. We obsessed about the movie Rio, so I thought that the kids would enjoy Birds of Paradise as well. There are a lot of big names like Drake Bell, Ashley Tisdale, and Jane Lynch in which Alana recognized so it caught her attention quite quickly.
The synopsis says "When Jack, an ordinary sparrow with dreams of becoming an extraordinary bird, is accidentally covered in colorful paint, he is thrilled about his new exotic appearance and believes that he’ll now be able to impress Aurora, a beautiful canary who has recently escaped from her indoor cage. But when Aurora’s mean owner, Mr. Potter, finds her, Jack must enlist the help of his best friends - Vinnie, the loyal pigeon and Skeeter, the hyper hummingbird as well as Rosie, the caring bat and the wise Old Buzzard in order to free her. And along the way, Jack and Aurora will learn that it’s not what you look like on the outside, but who you are on the inside that truly counts."
The boys thought that this was a good movie but to be honest, I have only seen them watch it once and that was the night we received it. So, I wouldn't say they are obsessed but I think that they did enjoy it quite a bit. I did not watch it myself but Alana did and actually really enjoyed watching it. This movie truly teaches that "you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover." The person who is on the inside is what matters the most, which is what I have taught all three all of my children so it's good to have a movie that does the same.
Cost: $19.98 DVD /$24.99 Blu-ray DVD
Recommendation: I thought the quality of the film was super colorful and the story line was a sweet one with some really great lessons for the kids. I don't know if I'd be willing to pay $20 for this though since they've only watched it maybe a few times at most.
