Guardian Of The Highlands DVD Review
We were recently asked to review the Guardian Of The Highlands which became available from Cinedigm and Random Media on DVD, on April 8th, 2014. I hadn't heard of the Guardian before this and nor had the children, but after reading that it was about a character protecting the planets wildlife, you know I was all in! Being that the main character is voiced over by Sean Connery, who I have always been a fan of, I figured I might enjoy it even more!
This is actually Sean Connery's first ever animated role! The synopsis says "Residing in a landscape of unparalleled beauty, breathtaking scenery and hidden secrets, Sir Billi and his hilarious sidekick Gordan the Goat (Cumming) work against evils that threaten the future of the area’s wildlife."
I have to say I think I enjoyed this one the most out of anyone. I thought it was adorable and the characters were all kind of quirky, which made it even more interesting for me to watch. The boys weren't into it quite as much as I was and really only watched it maybe once. I think that it just wasn't their more well known cartoon movie.
Recommendation: I thought the quality of the film and even the story line was a pretty good one. I don't know if I'd buy it again since the boys didn't seem that interested in it and that alone is unusual for them.
