SLICES OF LIFE: A Food Writer Cooks Through Many a Conundrum
As a Restaurant Manager and Foodie Blogger, I can honestly say I struggle through my love for food and weight. I tend to be a stress eater and over-eater. Depending on what is going on in my life, you can believe that my weight and health are very reflective of it. I was beyond excited when I received an email from Running Press asking if I would be interested in reviewing a new book by Leah Eskin called "SLICES OF LIFE: A Food Writer Cooks Through Many a Conundrum".
The synopsis says, "SLICES OF LIFE is both an enchanting memoir and a cookbook, with more than 200 recipes that have taken the author from the simple Birthday Cake of her daughter’s one-year old dreams (page 11) and Best-Friend Biscuits (of the dog variety, page 21), to post-cancer Paella (page 198) and of course Emergency Pasta (page 346), for when instant gratification after a long school and work day is desperately needed.
For many, food signifies the comforts of home—family, love, warmth, and tradition. SLICES OF LIFE, featuring Leah Eskin’s quirky writing style and delectable recipes, takes ordinary life, and makes it extraordinarily delicious."
I love having something out of the ordinary to read/cook with! I think it is adorable that each recipe comes with it's own story and her snarky, humorous personality is very similar to mine! Each recipe is appropriately named alongside it's story and her mood!
Available to purchase/Cost: $20.16 Hardcover
Recommendation: There were some really great recipes in this book for all levels of cook. I absolutely loved it and will be sharing it with a few of my girlfriends!
Giveaway: Running Press is going to give one of A Lucky Ladybug's lucky readers a copy of SLICES OF LIFE: A Food Writer Cooks Through Many a Conundrum to have of their own!
