Muppets Most Wanted DVD Review
Now we are obviously a family full of movie buff's, but there are just some movies we can barely contain ourselves in excitement when they are released! On August 12th, 2014 (today), one of those movies became available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD, DVD, Disney Movies Anywhere, and On-Demand from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. The entire family loved the first Muppets movie so I was beyond excited to have the opportunity to review the second one, Muppets Most Wanted.
The synopsis says "Two Frogs! One Pig! Intrigue! Music! Mayhem! Muppets! There’s plenty of fun for the whole family as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal and the entire Muppets gang head out on a world tour. But mayhem follows the Muppets, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper. Now Kermit is behind bars at the mercy of prison warden Nadya (Tina Fey), and the World’s Number One Criminal, Constantine—a dead ringer for Kermit—has taken his place.
As Constantine and his dastardly sidekick Dominic (Ricky Gervais) plot the robbery of the century, they are pursued by Sam Eagle and Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon (Ty Burrell). Will Constantine get away with his nefarious scheme? Will Kermit escape in time to save the day? Packed with dozens of guest cameos, new songs and the most extended, most exclusive scenes not in theaters, Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted is the most hilarious, most wanted Muppet movie ever!"
We anxiously awaited the arrival of this DVD and of course watched it yesterday after it arrived in the mail! The boys were especially excited for it to arrive and even though they had plans, they wanted to watch it the second it showed up. Right after we watched it Dane said that it was "AWESOME!"
I loved that in the beginning it started off right from where the first one ended allowing you to feel as if you hadn't missed a thing in the Muppets lives! Dane has said several times that he loves all the singing in the Muppets. Once he knew the words from watching it over and over the first 24 hours, he was singing along and quoting parts throughout the movie. Declan's favorite part was when Kermit saves Miss Piggy from marrying Constantine but he also enjoyed "The Big House" Song in the beginning!
I personally think I liked the first one more than the second one, but the second one was still very good. With such an all-star cast it really is hard to go wrong not to mention this I feel as if this is a classic for my generation. Whether you have kids or not, you are going to love this one! Featuring 12 minutes of exclusive scenes not seen in theaters as well as "Statler and Waldorf’s version of the movie, and the laugh-out-loud gag reel, 'The Longer, Longest Blooper Reel in Muppets History'"!
Recommendation: I would recommend this for anyone at any age and especially for families. It would even make a great gift to someone who is trying to conceive and possibly a very touching gesture.
