THUNDER AND THE HOUSE OF MAGIC DVD Review and #Giveaway
I was recently asked to review another new movie which I thought looked like something my kiddos would enjoy called THUNDER AND THE HOUSE OF MAGIC. Looking like it might have somewhat of a Halloween theme, I figured the boys would love it up! On September 30, 2014, Shout! Factory released THUNDER AND THE HOUSE OF MAGIC on DVD and on two-disc Blu-ray™ 3D Combo Pack (Blu-ray 3D and 2D, DVD and digital), available exclusively at Walmart stores everywhere.
The synopsis says "The film tells the story of Thunder, an abandoned young cat who stumbles into a magical old mansion operated by a dazzling array of automatons and gizmos. Owned by a retired magician, the house is occupied by an assortment of his wacky assistants who don't all welcome the new houseguest. But when the magician lands in the hospital and his scheming nephew puts the mansion up for sale, our young hero and his new friends join forces to save their magical home."
Not only have I watched this movie more times than I can count, but I even know most of it by heart myself! The minute it arrived, Declan had to pop it in and has been watching it on repeat since! This has been his go to movie while we continue moving into the new home as well as before bedtime. I've got to add that I personally enjoy it myself! I love how the animals both pull together and overcome their differences to keep their family together and safe!
Recommendation: I thought the story line was very creative and while similar to your typical children's story, it was unique in so many ways! Not only did it have the action to keep the boys interested but the overall lesson was a good one. Declan has even been reciting lines from the DVD over the last few days.
