Did you know that millions of yards of seat belt webbing are rejected by automakers each year? This is mostly due to the high safety standards automotive companies have to protect you for the life of your car. I was recently contacted by a company that is trying to make a difference by re-purposing this rejected fabric - Maggie Bags."Maggie Bags are made using genuine automotive seat belt webbing. Availability of rejected seat belt webbing can vary greatly therefore some webbing must be purchased new to meet the growing demand for our unique and stylish bags. However, our commitment to use re-purposed seat belt webbing whenever possible remains steadfast."
Last year I was given the opportunity to review one of the Maggie Bag Campus Totes and we fell in love with it! This bag actually became my boot camp bag which I carried over 20 pounds in free weights to and from the gym. This year they graciously allowed me to work with them again by sending me A Tote of Many Colors in the classic style. Again, I fell in love and we have been using it as our over night bag for trips like when we camped outside of Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio.
They have yet again agreed to work with me for the holidays since they are truly one of my favorite brands! I had to share all about them as I believe any of the styles would make for an amazing Christmas gift! This time around I got to pick my favorite style which I have been dying to get my hands on - The Butterfly Bag! This bag is beautiful and full of colors that pop since I chose the pink and green style!
The bag is very spacious for a variety of items even enough for a light weekend trip. There are tons of pockets coming out all over the bag! If this isn't the style for you, there are tons of styles for anyone or any use from messenger bags and wine totes to cosmetic bags and belts! My favorite happens to be the butterfly bag but we both really love the two we have! I can't believe no one has thought of this amazing idea before to make such durable and stylish bags!
Available to purchase/Cost: $114 Butterfly Bag
Recommendation: This is an inexpensive bag when you look at the type of durability you are going to get! The styles they have come out with over the last year are adorable and the amount you are spending is going to a good cause as well.

I recycle wrapping paper and keep the bows to use for the following year
ReplyDeleteI reuse gift bags, boxes & bows, as well as recycle the wrapping paper
ReplyDeleteMy family goes through and donates books, coats, clothing to a local shelter. Plus we shop at Thrift and resale shops for gifts. We all redo furniture so it's fun to see whocam come up with the best redo project.
ReplyDeleteWe always try to make sure we recycle as much as possible, from wrapping paper, to any plastic and cardboard that's in packaging. I don't like to throw anything in the garbage if it can be recycled.
ReplyDeleteWe don't do much. We trying saving on our heating bill and thats about it.
ReplyDeleteWe try not to use throw away plastic bottles. We use a filtered pitcher for water. People throw so much plastic away. We also recycle canned and other plastic products.
ReplyDeleteThis year the whole family is coming here to our home for Christmas. We always went to my brothers home before up in Wisconsin because it was easier for my one son and his wife to travel a less amount of time with my grandson. He's twenty months old now so he travels much better and for longer periods of time now too. (can't wait)
ReplyDeleteWe recycle gift wrapping or come up with creative ways to wrap gifts --- some have been very interesting!
ReplyDeleteI always recycle gift bags in addition to trying not to throw things away-we use freecycle alot
ReplyDeleteWe are very conscience of the environment all year, even at the holidays. When giving presents we wrap them in paper goods that can be recycled.
ReplyDeleteWe use newspaper for wrapping gifts, we use reusable bags for shopping and repurpose or donate things we no longer need or want.
ReplyDeleteWe donate things we do not use to the abused woman and childrens shelter and we find ways to reuse things instead of throwing them away
ReplyDeleteOne of the ways that we stay environmentally conscious during the holidays is to wrap gifts with reusable fabric gift wrap. I love it because it is like a gift within a gift and the recipient can pass it along to someone else the following year.
ReplyDeleteI recycle paper from the year before if it is in great shape. We have quit cutting down a tree and have one to put up that saves on trees.
ReplyDeleteWe recycle our wrapping, wrap in newspapers, lower our heat, use recycling products
ReplyDeleteWe do things to save money and that could help the planet. We wrap our Windows in plastic each winter. Recycle old gift bags. But we're pretty terrible. We should do more.
ReplyDeleteWe have never gotten a tree so that helps the planet. We recycle wrapping paper, bows, gift bags and that helps the planet. Any used cardboard tubes get used to wrap cords and stuff them inside so it takes up less space and clutter. That's about the extent of our trying to help the planet at Christmas and during the year.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this bag! I would give it to my sister in law who is pregnant.
ReplyDeleteWe consider everyday to be earth day. We recycle everything possible, compost, re-use or re-purpose most things. Right now we are working on using less water. My 3 year old is having a tough time with that one!
ReplyDeleteI always save pretty bows for future Christmas gifts!
ReplyDeleteI always try to save the pretty bows for future Christmas gifts
ReplyDeleteWe keep what gift bags and stuff we can to reuse.
ReplyDeleteWe recycle a lot and we love the Earth911 website.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter, the youngest, is just like me, she loves to collect bags, put all of her "collections of items in them, makeup in one, hair accessories in another... She would cherish this so much.
ReplyDeleteWe donate items we don't need.
