Today, November 4, 2014, Anderson Digital released Garfield Holiday Collection on DVD! Garfield is one of those cartoons that may not quite be considered a classic but it sure seems like it! This show has been around since I was a child and back then I thought it was quite humorous. This is perfect timing for the holiday season as we celebrate some of the biggest holidays of the year! The collection includes:
- "A Garfield Christmas”: Garfield, Jon, and Odie go to Jon's grandmother's house for Christmas, where Garfield finds a present for Grandma.
- “A Garfield Thanksgiving”: Finds Jon with a love interest-- a veterinarian who orders Garfield on a diet--and then comes for Thanksgiving dinner!
- “Garfield Halloween Adventure”: Finds the portly hero and airhead-sidekick Odie the dog scrounging through owner Jon's attic to find perfect costumes, then encountering ghosts and ghoulies that seem a tad authentic.
- “Garfield on the Town”: Garfield escapes from the car on a trip to the vet and finds the place where he grew up.
- “Garfield in Paradise”: The Garfield gang is in Hawaii with a 1957 Chevy.
Declan loved this DVD, and especially enjoyed watching the Christmas one with Jon's Grandmother! He thought all the episodes were "really good". They seemned to get him really into the holiday season as we received it just before Halloween and are moving into the Christmas decorating time of year. Both boys seemed to have quite the interest and thought all of Garfields shenanagans were hilarious!
MSRP: $14.99
Recommendation: As I said before this was like a classic for me as a child and my boys thought it was pretty cute themselves. I think at $15 with the holiday theme, it would make for a perfect gift for really a wide range of ages!
