  1. Oh my, there are so many great Christmas's that I can remember when my Mother & Father were still alive. One year they only had enough money to get us four kids just a couple of things each. But I do remember that Christmas being very special because we all were home together and we had each other. Those were the type of Christmas's that do give you the true holiday spirit-

  2. When I was 6 and my brother 14 we camped out in the family station wagon because I just knew we would catch Santa arriving. He waited until I fell asleep and carried me in to bed. But just laying out there discussing what I was hoping Santa would bring me was an awesome memory. And also one of my favorites of spending time with my brother.

  10. When I was a child, my dad would play Santa and hand us kids each gift from under the tree. After gifts and breakfast, my grandparents came to visit. We always left our wrapping paper out for the day for our cat to play in.

  12. Once upon a time, I was a small child. I know, I know, it's hard to believe, but true. One Christmas, I wanted a Winnie the Pooh bear. My little Dachshund, Greta, had chewed the face on my old Winnie the Pooh bear. On Christmas Eve, Mommy told me that Santa Claus would peek in my room to be sure I was sleeping. If I were asleep, I'd get my bear. I lay in bed awake until past midnight. I was frightened that Santa would catch me awake! I remember listening to the clock down the hall strike midnight. I knew I had to be asleep because, "He knows when you are sleeping. He knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake!" Well, eventually I fell asleep, Santa peeked on me, and I got my bear the next morning!

    I was in 2nd grade.

    Blessings!

My favorite memories from Christmas are when my kids were young (they're both adults now). They would run up to our bedroom with big wide sparkling eyes and big smiles saying "Santa was here, Santa was here!" with just pure joy. This always brings a smile to my face when I think about it. :)

  21. A favorite holiday memory is when my parents were living and they planned a party for us. They made sure that we had our brand new Barbie camper and all the extras that year. Oh man that was the best Christmas that my sister and I ever had. I remember the smell of Strawberry Shortcake for years from that Christmas Day! After playing all morning long we got ready on that cold Christmas Day in our new clothes and headed over to my Great Uncle Gene's house to party with all the rest of the family! Boy I sure miss all of those good people.

  26. I grew up with tables full of Christmas cookies and frozen ones were the best. (partly because they were sneak cookies). Then I raised my kids with chocolate candy made daily in NOV and Dec. Had great memories of huge parties for different age levels at our house. We had so many decorations kids would play a game trying to fit their hand in an empty spot on our walls.
