Clarence: Mystery Piñata DVD Review and #Giveaway

On February 10th, 2015 The Cartoon Network released Clarence: Mystery Piñata on Blu-ray™ and DVD.  This unique and a bit odd show includes tons of bonus features including the original pilot episode as well as being packaged with a whopping 12 episodes.  Being that we had recently seen a preview for this, the boys were pumped to watch the Mystery Piñata episode especially!

The synopsis says "Celebrate the best of childhood: epic dirt fights, awkward crushes, trampoline combat, sleepover pranks and secret tree forts all through the eyes of Clarence. His novel perspective transforms nearly any situation, however mundane, into the best day ever. No matter what happens, nothing brings Clarence down."

While I agreed to review this show and am aware that it is very popular for boys aged 6-11, I am a bit disappointed in the fact that it is geared towards my young boys.  It is extremely strange, very off the wall, and I was not a fan.  Declan, thankfully attempted to watch the entire DVD and quickly realized himself that this was not something he had any interest in.

DVD SRP: $14.97
Recommendation:  I thought it was funny at a few parts but definitely on the weird side and not my idea of a children's show.  Thank goodness the kids were not totally upset about it being a dud in our house in the end.  I don't know about spending $15 to buy this.
Release Date: February 10, 2015
Running Time: 132 minutes
Rating: TV-PG
UPC Code: 883929448159

Giveaway:  Cartoon Network is going to give one of A Lucky Ladybug's lucky readers Clarence: Mystery Piñata DVD of their own!

  3. I love Clarence. The entire show reminds me quite a bit of my childhood - kids playing outside and riding bikes. The kids in it use their imaginations and don't play on electronics all day.

After finishing chores, going outside to play. Not sitting in front of a game or tv most of the day.
