As a kid Alana use to love the Disney version of Tarzan! So of course she was just as excited if not more than the boys to find out I was going to have the opportunity to review the new Tarzan® from Lionsgate. Arriving on Blu-ray (plus Digital HD) and DVD (plus Digital) February 10th, 2015, Tarzan is "re-imagined" for today's youth using CGI-animation. Knowing all three of my children would enjoy this one, we readily waited for it to arrive. The synopsis says "During an expedition to a remote African jungle, the Greystoke family’s helicopter crashes, leaving one survivor: the young boy J.J., nicknamed Tarzan. Raised by gorillas, Tarzan lives by the laws of the jungle — until he encounters another human being, the courageous and beautiful Jane Porter. For Tarzan and Jane, it’s love at first sight — and the beginning of a thrilling adventure — as Tarzan uses his instincts and intellect to protect his jungle home and the woman he loves."
While watching the movie, I found that I was also zoned in to it as well as the the kids. I found myself distracted from work by the beautiful graphics. The boys have seen the Disney version before but I'm not sure if they quite remembered it as they seemed very intrigued and surprised by this version. After watching the movie together, I asked if they liked it and of course they all did! I love that it is it's own, newer version and not one of those cheesy knock off's. it's actually good quality. I personally enjoyed it.
Cost: $14.98
Recommendation: Declan really liked this one more than the others even though it seemed to be a family favorite. I loved the quality and the unique version of the story. It looked so unbelievably real. I think the cost is fairly inexpensive too if you want to have this classic in your home.

I didn't even know they were coming out with a new Tarzan. I love the Disney version but I'm always willing to give others a shot - usually I'm not disappointed either. My kids would love it :)
