Island of Lemurs: Madagascar DVD Review

        Of course after watching the popular cartoon movie, Madagascar, my children have fallen in love with the zoo animals they never knew existed.  One specific animal being a Lemur!  So when I heard the Island of Lemurs: Madagascar would be released, I knew my kids would have a blast watching something as unique as this.


        On March 31st, 2015, Island of Lemurs: Madagascar was released and is narrated by Academy Award® winner Morgan Freeman.  Released from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Blu-ray Combo Pack and Digital HD, this documentary comes just in time for Earth Day (April 22).

        The synopsis says "Captured with IMAX 3D cameras, “Island of Lemurs: Madagascar” takes audiences on a spectacular journey to the remote and wondrous world of Madagascar, where lemurs arrived millions of years ago as castaways. They’ve since evolved into hundreds of diverse species, but are now highly endangered.

        “Island of Lemurs: Madagascar” highlights the tireless efforts of trailblazing scientist Dr. Patricia C. Wright and her lifelong mission to help these strange and adorable creatures survive in the modern world. Joining David Douglas once again behind the scenes are editor Beth Spiegel, co-producer Diane Roberts, and composer Mark Mothersbaugh. Songs are by Hanitrarivo Rasoanaivo & Tarika."

Recommendation:  I would recommend this for anyone with children between the ages of 5-8 maybe or someone looking to learn about the planet and the animals in a different way than the norm.  There were tons of interesting facts and the graphics and views were beautiful!
