Yorkshire-Mayfair Sheet Set Review

       With moving into the new house this past winter, I very quickly realized how desperate we were in need of new sheets for everyone in the house.  Not only were most of them hand me downs or bedding used back prior to Kevin and I getting married, but they were all pretty cheap quality and looking very shabby.  The cost to replace one set let alone several in the house can be pretty expensive.  While we've been in need, it isn't something I want to drop a quick grand on getting 4 new bedding sets.

        Alana as well as Kevin and myself have king size mattresses and you know any sheets with a high thread count can be in the hundreds.  The boys share a queen with a twin bunk bed top so they aren't cheap either by any means.  So being on this mission, I was beyond thrilled when the company Yorkshire-Mayfair agreed to let me review a set of theirs.

        I was sent over their 1000 Thread Count Soft Cotton Silky Sateen Sheet Set, Extra Deep Pocket, King size in a random color and 500 Thread Count 100% Cotton Deep Pocket Sheet Set, Queen Size in a random color.  Not only was I in the market for new sheets but this is a perfect example of how something as simple as your sheets can create the ultimate in luxury sleep.

        Originally I had planned to use the king set in our bedroom first, however when they random color turned out to be a green and a perfect match for Alana's bedroom theme, they defaulted to her.  The Queen set came in white so it went to the boys room (even though I have the feeling that was a terrible idea with two boys in there).

        Made of 100% cotton, they had a naturally soft feel.  While the 1000 thread count felt thick, the 500 thread count felt very paper thin.  Alana was very happy with her new set for the first time in a long time.  She said they don't even seem to wrinkle or move much while she sleeps.  On the other hand, we took the 500 thread count white set off the bed after only a few nights.  These were unfortunately a disappointing quality.

Recommendation:  I definitely recommend the 1000 thread count sheets more than the 500 thread count.  While I feel the pricing is in line with other sheet sets of this quality, I don't feel like they are at a bargain price in anyway.  I definitely wouldn't spend the money at any point on the 500 thread count queen size sheets.
