Strange Magic DVD Review and #Giveaway

When I first heard about the new movie "Strange Magic", I knew it would be one that both the boys and Alana and myself would watch together.  Touchstone Pictures releases Strange Magic to DVD, Digital HD/SD and On-Demand on May 19th, 2015.  With familiar voices like Maya Rudolf, Kristin Chenoweth, Evan Rachel Wood, and Alan Cumming, this is sure to be a hit in any household.

The synopsis says "Strange Magic is a music-filled fairy tale about finding true love in the unlikeliest of places. This magical adventure features a host of colorful characters including a princess who has sworn off love, a dubious villain, a slightly nutty Sugar Plum Fairy, a tenacious elf, a mischievous imp, and a knight who is no Prince Charming. Bring home the enchanting tale the whole family can enjoy today!"

I literally asked the boys this morning what they thought of the movie last night since they fell asleep to it and Declan said, "It was awesome, can we watch it again?!  It was about a girl who fell in love and it wasn't what she thought it would be."  While I haven't watched it yet myself, I am excited to.  I feel like this reminds me of a few similar movies I used to watch as a child only with better graphics!
**OK, update:  I am watching this right now and think it is ABSOLUTELY adorable!  Between all the popular songs and it being a musical for kids, I think this might be my new favorite movie myself!  I am not to the end just yet but I can already tell this is going to be a good one to teach kids to be strong, fall in love the right way, and to look more deeply at people and their innerself.

Recommendation:  Both boys have enjoyed watching a new and exciting movie.  I think the colors are great for the lil ones and the lesson in this is in line with those we stress on the kids.

  6. My kids are still pretty young so I haven't really taught them anything about love. They love our family, their pets, etc. but that is really the extent of what they know about love.
