When going to college myself and even as a child, I loved decorating my room with anything like glow in the dark stars and rope lighting. I always felt it added a special personal touch to the dorm rooms and of course we weren't allowed candles so it helped set a fun ambiance. With the move into a new house as well as three children, I love finding unique decorating solutions.
While watching the TV recently, the boys discovered something called Glow Show. I figured it would be perfect for the boys room and a lot of fun for the whole family to set up. I was thrilled when they agreed to send me over a set to review and my excitement was nothing in comparison to the boys! We all readily awaited it's arrival to complete their room decor.
While it seems simple enough...put the stickers on the launcher where they charge up, shoot them around the room, and enjoy the fun, it isn't as easy as it sounds. The stickers are extremely difficult to get on the launcher (or at least more-so if your my husband). I was able to get the hang of it after messing up a few of the decals. You also have to be sure the kiddos are aiming directly at a wall or ceiling since the stickers still need to be pressed down after shooting them in place.
The boys had a blast shooting them strategically around the room and even the rest of us had to shoot at least one to partake in the decorating. Glow Show also comes with a projector wheel for once your done placing the stickers around. This way kids can still add additional shapes, make those shapes move, and have some fun in the dark playing with each other or telling stories to go with the fun decor.
After sleeping in their room several nights following, the boys were pretty satisfied with the fun they had together as well as the lasting design in their room. The stickers do take a bit more than your average glow in the dark decal to "charge" and they do not glow as well as others I've had in the past. However, I'm not the one sleeping in the room and the boys are happy with it in every aspect. They've already asked for more sticker refills!
Cost/Available to purchase: $24.99 + $4.99 S/H Glow Show
Recommendation: I love that this isn't just something the kids played with once and set aside. While they may not play each night with the projector wheel, the stickers are there every night to set the evening tone! I felt like the price of this was pretty reasonable for what you get but of course I'd love to see it at perhaps the $15-$20 range to make it a bit more affordable.
