Shout Factory October Release Roundup Review
Shout Factory has got new movies for the boys and girls you won't want to miss! I was happy when I was asked to review the two newest DVD's from Shout Factory - My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games (released on October 13th, 2015) and TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE - A NEW AUTOBOT MISSION (released on October 20th, 2015). As a family we have always been huge fans of the Transformers movies. Even before the boys were born, Kevin and I would watch the first movie over and over. We also love My Little Pony quite a bit in this family. So needless to say it really was not a question when I was asked to review the most recent DVD's in these series.
My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games synopsis says “Now, in the new animated film My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games, Canterlot High meets its rival school, Crystal Prep Academy, in a competition that’s a long-standing tradition –The Friendship Games: a series of exciting events that includes archery, motocross, and rollerskating! Sunset Shimmer is tasked with keeping magic out of the games to keep things fair while she and her friends compete against Crystal Prep’s top students led by someone with an equal amount of interest in Equestrian magic – this world’s Twilight Sparkle."
As expected both boys loved watching this one as well as myself. This has truly become a family favorite. I love how this one incorporates sprts (as we start to explore sports in our family) and teaches the importance of teamwork! Having confidence in yourself and your abilities is also an important lesson this special DVD helps kids with.
TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE - A NEW AUTOBOT MISSION synopsis says, “The new mission begins as BUMBLEBEE must step up to be leader in the years after we left the AUTOBOTS in TRANSFORMERS PRIME. Summoned by OPTIMUS PRIME to save Earth from a new DECEPTICON threat, BUMBLEBEE puts his light-hearted mettle to the test after assembling a rouge team of AUTOBOTS action heroes. BUMBLEBEE must balance his job fighting off evil with being equal parts squad leader and coach to a rascally team that needs constant coaxing to learn how to work together. The results are comical when the cool rebel SIDESWIPE, elite guard cadet STRONGARM, bombastic dinobot GRIMLOCK and overly-excited mini-con FIXIT must balance keeping the team together with chasing and capturing their new enemies in each adventure-filled episode."
Including five of the crazy decepticon episodes from Transformers Prime, your kids are sure to find some of their favorite action characters! Not only were Dane and Declan obsessed with naming our cars after each transformer, they are into each character each time we watch part of the series.
